Get Active

Being active as an amputee can be very difficult, but also very rewarding. When you have support from like-minded athletes it can make it much more enjoyable, and achievable. Here are some great organizations to help you become an active amputee!

Adaptive Adventures is a great resource for the adventurous community. Their goal is to change lives through equal access to outdoor sports.

The Challenged Athletes Foundation is an amazing resource! They provide opportunities through grants and scholarships, so disabled people can pursue active lifestyles. Equipment is expensive in general, but specialized equipment is extremely pricey.

Dare2tri is an organization near & dear to my heart. I honestly never felt more at home and comfortable in my skin as I did when I spent a weekend at their camp. They impact the lives of athletes with physical and visual impairments by developing their skills in paratriathlon. I wrote up a post about my first experience with them here.
